iConnect launches clean-up activities in conjunction with the Islandwide Beautification Task Force
Tamuning, GU - iConnect launches its series of planned clean-up activities as a proud and committed corporate volunteer in the Roadway Adoption Program (RAP) of the Islandwide Beautification Task Force under the office of Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio and administered by the Guam Department of Public Works (DPW).
On March 15, 10 volunteers made up of iConnect’s executives, managers, staff and family conducted an initial 2-hour clean-up along its adopted public roadway section of Marine Drive starting in front of the iConnect Main Office to the K-mart intersection in Upper Tumon. The group had a safety and procedural briefing to ensure that all participants conduct the clean-up in a safe manner, refuse are appropriately disposed, safety gears (visual and physical aids such as traffic cones, gloves, etc.) and proper cleaning tools are employed to ensure a safe and efficient initial clean-up activity which will pave the way for many more to come.
The iConnect volunteers had a tiring (considering most of them came directly from the Payless Annual Kick The Fat 5K Run/Walk) yet enjoyable morning. Some more clean-up sessions are planned leading up to the heavier tasks of cleaning and painting of structures including sidewalk and roadway island.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our volunteers in keeping the Hafa Adai spirit in maintaining Guam as a beautiful island home for us and a well loved attraction for our visitors to keep coming back to.
